Kerchoonz is a forward thinking multi-media company conceived to help level the playing field for artistic people through the democratizing power of the internet and freedom of choice for the artists and the public.
The Kerchoonz Gang is a group of veteran record producers, artists, songwriters, music and technology industry pros, accountants, media lawyers and business people.
The founders, Indiana Gregg and Ian Morrow, began developing the site in October 2006. In January 2008, they created Kerchoonz.com and in April, 2008 a new company Kerchoonz Ltd was formed.
Kerchoonz.com is a social networking platform that allows free exchange of music, art, ideas, and entertainment. It enables fans to search and discover new music, play games, meet people, watch and upload video, keep up with news, post blogs, and a whole lot more.
Kerchoonz is a free service to the public. When you play music or download songs, you are supporting the artist financially even though it doesn't cost you anything. You get free music and the artist gets paid! It's a winner for everyone.
Kerchoonz believes that artistic people should be compensated for their work even if it is 'free'. So, we've developed Kerchoonz.com, an ad-funded model that allows artists and musicians to be paid for their audio and video streams as well as their free downloads.
Kerchoonz also believes in freedom of choice for artists, so, we provide the tools and artists have a choice about which tools they want to use and how they use them. If an artist or label doesn't want to give their music away for free, they are free to sell it and provide links to their on-line shop. But, they can still opt to be paid for streams.
