Yeah but 'moving your fingers about and hope' is magic. Music is not about being 'neat' musicians or at least it shouldn't be I think. I'm guilty of being so anal sometimes when I record but I'm trying to break from that a little. Music is an energy, a communication, and should be a joy that is open armed to everyone who comes into its circle. I don't know the quantum reasons why we resonate with some music and not with all but I have a feeling it's to do with the honesty and good natured love for what we do that we invest into it, and being a 'clever' musician has, in my opinion, not as much to do with the end result as we sometimes think. The same with singing. A voice from the heart is so much more powerful than one from the ego.
listening to your songs resonated with me. They are creative which is very different from being sophisticated and boring and shag it I also like the (not perfect) playing and singing and that's good enough for me.
Anyway, Sounds like you live in the country and escaped all the city slush-I was like a drowned rat by the time I got home- but was greatly entertained by your songs.
Keep those fingers moving.
Barry
Thanks very much for being so kind Barry.I was fully expecting any comments about us to say 'You're wasting your time' or 'You're a bit on the crappy side'. Huzzah for you! Compliments are always nice but when they come from someone who is a capable musician, it means all the more. You'll have to tell us what it's like to be able to play music properly and not just move one's fingers about and hope.
Sorry to hear about the slush misery. We're out in the middle of nowhere (we're nothing but stinking hermits) and our snow just seems to either be there or not. There's no real 'slush' stage. I'm not sure why that is but think it must be something to do with our location. It's the way forward. I'm all for a slush free society.
